I write in the quiet darkness of the bedroom. I write without the distractions of the day or of daily living. I write to release and create.
The words have life. The sounds of the words are music. I can hear them in my head. How is that? They have their own rhythm and cadence. I can feel it.
The paper inspires by the texture against the pen. The sensation as I write is important to the creation. Not sure why. It is part of the equation. Do I really need to question why?
If I write using a computer and keyboard, the physical stimulus is different. It is the sound of the keys as I strike them. It is the appearance of the words and sentences on the screen, as they take on a life of their own. It is the spoken word, unspoken.
